Humboldt Community Services District is currently filling the following positions:

Foreman (Maintenance Department):

Humboldt Community Services District is seeking an experienced and motivated individual to
coordinate and direct the district’s maintenance field crew in maintaining the District’s water
distribution and wastewater collection system, pumping, and storage facilities. The Foreman also
assists with long-range planning of system operation and maintenance functions and regulatory
compliance. This position provides supervision, training, and guidance to a staff of utility workers,
and works closely with management to provide quality service to the community. The ideal candidate will be a strong leader with extensive hands-on experience in water and sewer
systems, the ability to manage multiple projects, and a commitment to safety and public service

The Foreman ($39.44 – $47.93 per hour) performs the full range of water and sewer system construction, maintenance, vehicle/equipment maintenance, installation, and repair assignments with minimal supervision. The Foreman coordinates and directs field crews, provides training and guidance for less experienced staff, and performs related work as required.

Utility Worker I-II-III :

HCSD is seeking a new full-time employee to engage in tasks related to the construction, operation, and maintenance of the District’s water distribution and wastewater collection systems, pumping facilities, and water storage reservoirs. Responsibilities and expectations for each level of the Utility series increase accordingly. Please review the attached individual job descriptions to determine which classification best aligns with your knowledge and experience before applying for consideration.

UTILITY I – Entry level, 5-step Salary Range: $22.03 to $26.78 per hour
UTILITY II – Experienced level, 5-step Salary Range: $25.79 to $31.34 per hour
UTILITY III – Senior level, 5-step Salary Range: $31.32 to $38.07 per hour

Engineering Technician I/Utilities Services Assistant:

HCSD is seeking motivated and service-oriented candidates for the full-time position of Engineering Technician I / Utility Services Assistant to support the planning, design, and inspection of the District’s water and sewer infrastructure and provide critical customer and contractor interface.

Engineering Technician I / Utility Services Assistant ($30.87 – $37.52 per hour) is an entry-level position that supports the Engineering Department through technical, administrative, and customer service functions. The role includes drafting, field inspections, GIS and modeling, utility mark and locate, and coordination with the public at the planning counter.
